Books I Read (or Listen to!)

    • The Love Prescription – 7 Days to More Intimacy, Connection and Joy – Written by Drs. John & Julie Gottman, this book is a updated formula to increase loving connection in your couple relationship.
    • 7 Principles for Making Marriage Work – Based on 40 years of relationship research, this book first introduced the Sound Relationship House theory building a lasting relationship on a strong foundation of friendship, trust and commitment.
    •  TrustKnow When to Give It, When to Withhold It, How to Earn It, and How To Fix It When It Gets Broken– By noted psychologist and author Dr. Henry Cloud, famous for his Boundaries book series, this book helps readers understand the components of trust – Understanding, Motive, Ability, Character and Track Record – and how to use them to evaluate your own trustworthiness and the trustworthiness of others.
    • A Radical Guide for Women With ADHD – Embrace Neurodiversity, Live Boldly, and  Break Through Barriers – A positive, practical and pointed book on understanding the ADHD brain, the cultural battle women with ADHD fight in our society, and ways to take ownership of the differences by living in the vulnerability of asking for help.
    • A Quiet Life in 7 Steps – Only on Audible, this book is a biography of how author Susan Cain embraced her life as a writer, introvert, and love of the simple and quiet. It’s read by the author and is a great listen on a rainy day with a hot cup of tea.
    • Disentangling from Emotionally Immature People – A helpful guide to avoiding rhe relational games played by emotionally immature people by standing up for yourself through setting better emotional and physical boundariess.
    • Too Good to Leave-Too Bad to Stay a straight-forward series of questions author Mira Kirshenbaum offers readers consider as she laysout a a step-by-step approach to deciding whether to stay in your relationship or move forward alone. The biggest takeaway for me from this book is that the “balanced-scale” approach of pros and cons in a relationship isn’t the formula to use. She reveals that this “realtionship diagnosis” process is a more accurate gauge for the health of a relationship and whether the relationship is a place to thrive or a toxic place to live.
    • The People-Pleasers Guide to Loving Others Without Losing Yourself – A light-hearted but practical look at being a better People Pleaser by making sure you care as much on your own  happiness as you do about the happiness of others!

Stay tuned for more good reads and listens!
